“Stop teaching and allow people to learn”  – PADI Course Director, PADI Platinum Course Director

PADI Course Director has been telling his PADI IDC candidates to allow their students to learn, but does he adhere to the adage himself? Does he allow his own people to learn?

How much practice is involved in a PADI IDC? Well, the whole team is now in resort and the PADI IDC Sharm at Reef Oasis Dive Centre is rolling.

The candidates already had a lot of practice at dive theory exams through PADI Course Director’s distance learning course ahead of the IDC .  Because of all the practice they had put in, the candidates felt confident to take their dive theory exams.

Practice pays off

Practicing classroom teaching

Here is what some of the candidates had to say….

Dry Practice

Pool Practice

“We’ve learnt how to teach in confined water…”

“We had dry practice first, wow, that really worked wonders! After discussing how to make confined water training relevant for today’s customer, we had a dry practice to make sure we were comfortable.”

“Then we went into the pool and did it for real. We experienced being in control of a pool session and we started to feel like instructors for the first time, which was a really cool feeling.”

“The staff instructors were very impressed and complimentary about our performances, which was good to hear. We have done so much in just a few days.”

“With all that already under our belts, we are feeling more excited and more relaxed as each day passes.”

Practice evaluating

It seems that there is a lot of practice built into this PADI IDC. So PADI Course Director does practice what he preaches.  “With the right guidance and practice, it is amazing how quickly the learners progress.”
