PADI Master Instructor and I are now back in the UK after a very successful trip to both Sharm and Marsa Alam. Both the PADI IDC and the PADI IDC Staff Instructor Courses at Emperor Divers were fantastic. The Candidates on both courses were determined not to Just “Get the Badge” but to be proficient in teaching effectively as Professional Diving Instructors.
I am now back in the UK and have some fantastic ideas, about some new courses:
1. A One day NLP course for Instructors to show how the careful use of words and simple constructive procedures can dramatically improve the quality of teaching and allow people to learn effectively and naturally at a much faster pace. It also builds in a large helping of enthusiasm!
2. A UK based Divemaster Course which teaches all of the important Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes aspects of a modern Dive Professional, followed by a 3 week Internship (as a qualified Divemaster) in Egypt at a busy IDC Centre to get the experience of this new knowledge in the “real world” –
3. A PADI IDC where all of the Classroom and Confined Water activities are conducted in the UK, We then travel to Egypt to take part in the Open Water sections, and take the Instructor Exam.
I’m very excited by these new additions to our schedules.. I haven’t yet worked out the “fine details” but will be letting you know more soon.
