“An AWESOME three days…”  – Neil, new PADI Staff Instructor

“Well done Neil and David, you were both terrific. I am looking forward to the day that you staff one of my PADI IDCs.”

The Power of Words

We were joined on the Staff Instructor Course by Barry and Bob.  Who are PADI Assistant Instructor and PADI Master Instructor respectively.  They found much of the content really relevant to the teaching they have been doing.

I spent a day with PADI Course Director learning how to teach the PADI Open Water course in a new and exciting way which moves the spotlight onto the student and not the Instructor.  Also, we conduct most of the pool skill neutrally buoyant and not kneeling on the pool floor which is more realistic, we are seeing some great results plus the students love it as they spend an hour diving and not kneeling down.”

Practical Pool Session

What a marvellous pool session it was.  Full of different types of practice.  Practice at doing skills.  Practice at teaching skills and practice at evaluating skills too. All under the watchful eye of their coach, PADI Course Director.

He loves these sessions because there is so much discussion on how we can improve as teachers and make the learning easy for our customers.

“IDC Staff Instructor…What a really brilliant course over the last 3 days!  Thanks very much to PADI Course Director for a great time and giving us some superb teaching tips.”

Practice at evaluating open water

Getting to grips with the evaluation slates is no mean feat, but learning is accelerated by the constant discussion generated.

The next 3 day PADI IDC Staff Instructor Course with PADI Course Director is at Scuba Republic on 20-21-22 June.
