David proudly exits the water, he has now successfully completed his PADI Divemaster course with PADI Master Instructor.
Only a few weeks ago, David signed up to become a PADI Instructor. At that time, he was only a Rescue Diver with a limited amount of dives, but that did not worry him!
His tenacity and hard work has shown what can be achieved over a short period of time. He has proven that quality of study is far more important than length of time when it comes to finding success.
David bought his PADI Divemaster Pack, and immediatley started to study. He read the DM Manual and revised using our Distance Learning Preparation Course.
It didn’t take him long to complete all of the Divemaster Knowledge Reviews, I was always on hand to answer any questions if he needed an explanation.
David was then ready to see us for his Divemaster Course.
As a Platinum Course Director, I know exactly what is needed for a Divemaster course. Over the last 12 years, one common problem I often find on my PADI IDCs is that candidates struggle becuase they had been taught a sub-standard Divemaster course. Despite their courses often lasting serveral months, many of the key performance requirements had been left out. It’s not uncommon for them to have enjoyed their DM course, and not uncommon for them to have learnt a lot of tips, but those tips were not part of the syllabus, so they find that they are very unprepared for a PADI IDC.
So with the help of another couple of instructors ( Garry Plant, and Claire Baker ) PADI Master Instructor and I had an enormous amount of fun teaching David his Divemaster Course.
It was an easy job for us to do! David was perfectly prepared, and always had an open mind and eager to learn new things.
David is heading for our next Instructor Development Course at Emperor Divers in Sharm el Sheikh in November. He is perfectly prepared, and I have no doubt that he will be very successful as a PADI Instructor in the future. I have been very impressed with his determination, and am looking forward to having a lot of fun in Sharm next month.
